Digital Strategist

Job Description

As a Digital Strategist, you will oversee 3-5 accounts in our Atlassian portfolio, serving as the main strategic lead for all client performance-related matters. As a Strategist, you will be given autonomy in determining the strategic goals for the account based on your judgment while collaborating with a cross-functional team of digital marketing professionals specializing in marketing automation, design, development, paid media, content development, and SEO to bringthe plan to life.

The Strategist is the account driver – ensuring that all marketing programs are released according to specifications and milestones are met, keeping the clients up-to-date on progress on a regular basis. As the client’s go-to resource at Brighttail, your strong focus on outstanding client management skills while developing subject matter expertise on the client’s business will enable you to provide a successful client experience and substantial value in leading your clients’ digital marketing programs.

The Strategist is to serve as a Product Owner within a scrum team and lead client scrum teams independently. You will report directly to the Director of Strategy in this role, who will act as your support and guidance in this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all strategy and performance-related matters, consulting both external (clients) and internal stakeholders (scrum team).
  • Develop external and internal campaign briefs that accurately define project scope and provide strategic direction to scrum team members and clients.
  • Develop monthly report summary decks and facilitate monthly report call discussions with clients.
  • Review channel monthly reports, oversee regular performance report outs, and present strategic recommendations based on a strong understanding of performance data and the next steps in growing your clients’ digital performance.
  • Monitor the success of marketing campaigns and report progress to the Director of Strategy. Collaborate with the Director of Strategy to map out marketing roadmaps and communication plans based on progress.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and scrum team members to ensure successful rollout of campaigns and initiatives per the clients’ marketing roadmap.
  • Regularly connect with cross-functional team members (scrum team) to ensure campaigns are optimized and aligned.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with evolving trends in the B2B marketing space to further advance Brighttail’s initiatives and marketing playbook.
  • Assist in refining internal Strategy team processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Be able to work odd hours on occasion (primarily late night calls) to accommodate different client timezones

Skills You’ll Need to Bring

  • 3+ years of experience building comprehensive B2B digital marketing campaigns
  • Background in at least one of the following core disciplines, with working knowledge for all: Performance Marketing, SEO, Marketing Automation, and Account Management
  • Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams (multiple disciplines)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
  • Strong analytics skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Proven ability to lead discussions with external and internal stakeholders
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven relationship-building skills and client communication experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
