Job Description

Brighttail is a growing B2B marketing agency looking for a Content Marketing Specialist to manage content development for our portfolio of technology brands across B2B sectors.

You are a highly strategic content marketing professional with a strong writing background, excellent story-telling skills, and extensive experience developing content throughout a full marketing funnel that appeals to your target audience. You will have a keen sense of the messages, stories, engagement models, and tactics that make sense with different audiences, roles, and levels.

You are passionate about identifying business goals and developing content marketing strategies that will achieve them. Additionally, you have a working knowledge of SEO to drive an optimized content experience and excel at working cross-functionally to build and execute complex content strategies.

A collaborative leader; you must possess outstanding editorial skills, be deeply interested in content and culture, thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to demonstrate B2B content experience, and an educational mindset, and have a high degree of knowledge in both the content strategy and marketing fields.

What You’ll Achieve

  • Identify client pain points and business objectives to create tailored content marketing roadmaps. Work closely with client SMEs (subject-matter experts) to understand products, markets, and customer needs.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and content audits to evaluate existing content performance, identify gaps, and propose optimization opportunities.
  • Work together with the Director of SEO & Content to develop, refine, and execute comprehensive content marketing strategies that will achieve our client’s goals with a strong focus on ROI, including audience engagement, lead generation, and conversion optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with Senior SEO Specialists and Performance Marketers to analyze client’s content library to assess alignment with the target audience, search intent, and content gaps and optimize overall content performance.
  • Develop content briefs and provide editorial oversight to freelancers to ensure assets meet strategic objectives and client standards.
  • Edit and provide strategic and editorial direction to freelancers to contribute to their ongoing content development. Ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and tone and voice for customer needs.
  • Write strategic thought leadership content (blog posts, case studies, reports, white papers, etc.) for Brighttail. This content will be distributed to Brighttail’s blog, social media, or co-marketing activities.
  • Create content migration plans for outdated or underperforming assets, recommending repurposing or consolidation.
  • Use analytics tools to monitor content performance and generate insights for continuous improvement. Present reports and data-driven recommendations to clients to showcase content effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, content marketing tools, and audience behavior in B2B content marketing and continue to evolve Brighttail’s content operations and product portfolio to position us at the forefront of the industry.

Skills You’ll Need to Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related field; preferably from a US/UK university
  • At least 3-5 years of experience developing content strategy for B2B technology companies or content marketing agencies
  • Proven excellence in B2B content strategy – i.e. planning and creating content that attracts website visitors and converts them into leads.
  • Creative and innovative thinker who can proactively come up with story ideas and manage content projects from strategy to execution (with minimal supervision)
  • Thorough knowledge of web writing and SEO best practices
  • Strong editorial leadership background and proofreading skills, as well as experience owning editorial and style guides.
  • Meticulous English language skills, with a keen eye for detail when it comes to punctuation, spelling, grammar, and syntax.
  • (Great to have) Familiarity with app marketplaces (e.g., Atlassian Marketplace), including an understanding of Atlassian’s software products.
